Blue Apatite is a truly amazing crystal that is widely used in Crystal Healing and to create Gemstone Jewelry, as there are wonderful metaphysical properties associated with this Beautiful Blue Stone.

BLUE APATITE: Apatite stone is a calcium phosphate composed of three recognized species: chloropatite (containing chlore), fluorapatite (containing fluor) and hydroxyapatite (containing hydrogen).

Its name comes from the Greek word “apatan” meaning “cheating” or “to be wrong”. Apatite refers to the Greek mythology goddess called Apate. This minor goddess, daughter of Nyx, is the personification of dupery, fraud, deception and dishonesty. It is one of the evils of Pandora’s box.

This name was given by the German mineralogist Abraham gottlob Werner. The reason is that the apatite stone an easily be confused with other ores. It is often confused with beryl, tourmaline, topaz or olivine. It is only at the endof the 18th century that its chemical composition was established. There are Apatite mines in Germany, Burma, Brazil, Canada, France, Spain, the USA, Mexico, Madagascar, Mozambique, Norway, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan

Metaphysically speaking, Apatite is a dual-action stone

known for its positive use of personal power to achieve goals. It clears away confusion, apathy or negativity, then, stimulates the intellect to expand knowledge and truth, which may be used for personal growth or for the collective good. It is a Stone of Manifestation, promoting a humanitarian outlook and service to others.

• Moon rocks collected by astronauts during the Apollo program contain traces of apatite. [47] Following new insights about the presence of water in the moon, [48] re-analysis of these samples in 2010 revealed water trapped in the mineral as hydroxyl, leading to estimates of water on the lunar surface at a rate of at least 64 parts per billion – 100 times greater than previous estimates – and as high as 5 parts per million. [49] If the minimum amount of mineral-locked water was hypothetically converted to liquid, it would cover the Moon's surface in roughly one meter of water.[50]

• Discovered in 1786, Apatite was named after the ancient Greek goddess Apate. According to legend, Apate is the goddess of deceit.

• Since Ancient times, Apatite like Lapis Lazuli has been grinder to make pigment that is used to create paint, make-up, dyes for clothing, inlay for Jewelry and Art just to name a few.

• The apatite ore is the main source of phosphore and phosphate. This concentration makes the main ingredient for a lot of fertilizers and cleansers.
