If you want to know how to test for Shungite Authenticity and what tools you may need? Read this educational blog post, to find all the answers. Ok so let's get right into it;-)
FIRST THINGS FIRST, WHAT IS SHUNGITE?
Shungite is very old... ancient in fact... said to be around 2 billion years old. It is an extraordinarily positive stone... and using it may bring you a variety of blessings. This is an amazing stone, and one that is beneficial to a healthy life. It is the only known natural material known to contain fullerenes, which are powerful anti-oxidants.
Fullerenes were brought to our attention when research on them gained the scientists a Nobel prize. This is because the fullerenes in this stone will cleanse water then infuse it with a potent healing vibration.
The energy embodied within this ancient stone is said to absorb and eliminate anything that is a health hazard to human life... and it has active metaphysical properties with strong healing powers.
Shungite is a powerful stone to shield you from the electro-magnetic radiation given off by electrical equipment... including computers, mobile phones, microwaves and televisions.
Shungite is sometimes called the "Stone of Life" due to it's healing and antibacterial properties. Many people use shungite to create a healing spa in the home by placing it in some water to purify and charge the water with cleansing energy.
Shungite is a stone of rejuvenation.
This mineral is hailed as containing a healing power incomparable to any other. Shungite purifies, protects, normalizes, induces recovery and promotes growth in living organisms.
Shungite is considered an excellent source of protection from harmful electromagnetic radiation from computers, microwave ovens, TV sets, mobile phones, etc.
Healing properites of Shungite
Healers use shungite to alleviate a wide variety of physical complaints such as heart difficulty, allergies, skin diseases, arthritis, hair and skin rejuvenation.
Sources of Shungite
Shungite is found at only one location - at the Zazhoginskoye deposit near Lake Onega in the Shunga region of Karelia, North West of Russia.
To learn more detailed information and see resources and studies done on Shungite, please read more here. I have personally been using Shungite for many years now and I deeply believe in it's powerful properties to purify water, for protection from harmful Electromagnetic Radiation and for overall well-being. I have written many articles and created many educational videos as well, as you can find here
BEWARE OF FAKE SHUNGITE SOLD AS REAL
In recent years, the popularity of shungite, a unique and intriguing mineral, has surged within the wellness and alternative health communities. Hailing from Russia, this ancient rock is revered for its purported healing properties and ability to absorb electromagnetic radiation. However, with its rising demand comes the need for ensuring authenticity. So how do we know if the shungite we possess is genuine? Fortunately, there are several methods available for testing the authenticity of shungite, each offering a glimpse into the mineral's true nature.
HOW TO TEST SHUNGITE FOR AUTHENTICITY?
There are different methods to test if Shungite is real or not and one of the easiest and cheapest way to do it, is by using an UV flashlight like the one you see me using in this educational video I created, showing you how to test for Shungite.
These Ultraviolet flashlights are very affordable (mine did cost me about $6) and are very easy to find, I personally purchased mine from Amazon. I have had many people reaching out to me asking which particular flashlight I use in my educational videos when I'm testing for Shungite, so on this post I'm sharing the UV Flashlight that I use.
Here are other methods used to test for Shungite as well:
1. Visual Inspection: The first step in assessing the authenticity of shungite is a visual examination. Authentic Elite Noble shungite typically appears as a lustrous black mineral with a distinct metallic luster. Raw Black Shungite or Polished Black Shungite, often exhibits a matte finish and may contain visible inclusions of other minerals such as pyrite.
Be wary of shungite that appears too shiny or exhibits unnatural colors, as these may be signs of imitation or impurities.
2. Conductivity Test: Shungite is renowned for its high carbon content, which imparts it with exceptional electrical conductivity. One simple way to test for shungite authenticity is by assessing its conductivity. This can be done using a multimeter set to measure conductivity or resistance. The conductivity test is a method commonly used to verify the authenticity of shungite due to its high carbon content, which imparts it with exceptional electrical conductivity. Here's how you can perform the conductivity test:
Gather Materials: You'll need a multimeter or conductivity tester for this test. Ensure that the multimeter is set to measure conductivity or resistance.
Prepare the Shungite Sample: Select a small piece of shungite for testing. It's preferable to use a relatively flat and uniform piece for consistent results.
Set Up the Test: Place the shungite sample on a non-conductive surface such as wood or plastic to prevent interference. Ensure that the surface is clean and dry.
Connect the Probes: Connect the probes of the multimeter to opposite ends of the shungite sample. It's essential to make good contact with the surface of the shungite to obtain accurate readings.
Take Measurements: Once the probes are securely in place, observe the readings displayed on the multimeter. Authentic shungite should exhibit conductivity, resulting in a low resistance reading on the multimeter.
Interpret the Results: A low resistance reading indicates high conductivity, confirming the presence of genuine shungite. The exact resistance value may vary depending on factors such as the purity and quality of the shungite sample.
It's important to note that while the conductivity test can provide valuable insights into the authenticity of shungite, it should ideally be used in conjunction with other testing methods for a more comprehensive assessment.
3. Water Purification Test: One of the most celebrated properties of shungite is its ability to purify water by absorbing contaminants and imparting beneficial minerals. To test this property, immerse a piece of shungite in a container of water and leave it for several hours or overnight. Authentic shungite will gradually release minerals into the water, improving clarity and taste fresher. However, it's important to note that this method may not be foolproof, as other factors can influence water quality.
4. Chemical Analysis: For a more rigorous assessment of shungite authenticity, chemical analysis can provide valuable insights. Laboratories equipped with spectrometers and other analytical instruments can analyze the elemental composition of a shungite sample, confirming its carbon content and identifying any impurities or additives. While this method offers definitive results, it may not be practical for individual consumers due to cost and accessibility.
5. Geiger Counter Test: Shungite is known to exhibit unique electromagnetic properties, purportedly due to its fullerene content. Some enthusiasts advocate using a Geiger counter to detect these properties, as genuine shungite is said to emit measurable levels of radiation. However, it's essential to approach this method with caution, as excessive radiation levels can pose health risks. Consultation with a radiation safety expert may be advisable before conducting this test.
If after reading this you still feel confused on how to easily test for Shungite Authenticity, then I suggest you to watch my video on how to test for real Shungite and to perform the UV Flashlight test, as it is the easiest and cheapest way to do it.
Just make sure you are buying the correct UV Flashlight, one that opens on the back as you can see for the image on the left.
Once you have the correct flashlight, just remove the back of the flashlight, then using a Shungite stone touch the metal part where the batteries are with the stone, if your Shungite is real the Flashlight will illuminate the UV purple light color without the need to use the batteries, just using the stone instead. If you need a visual explanation on how to do this test with the flashlight, watch this video titled, Video #5 "Beware of fake Shungite, here is how to know if it is real." I admit that myself I personally learn much better and faster by watching video demonstrations than by reading instructions out of a paper, reason why I love to create educational videos for those like myself, that are more of a visual learners;-) So make sure to c heck that video if you still have any doubts on how to do it correctly, as the video shows you step by step how to do it yourself using that same UV Flashlight.
As we reach the conclusion of this educational post, I want to sincerely thank you for reading my blog and I hope that you found this information helpful to you, I also want to welcome you to check the pages on Shungite FAQ and Shungite Water.
